Wanda Karen Panduku was born on March 20th, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan. She closed her eyes for the final time in this life on July 2nd, 2026, and immediately opened them to the face of the One who created her, loved her, and called her home. She has received that life that is the eternal inheritance of those who know the Lord. And she certainly did.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Rev. James & Etta Varney. She is survived by her husband Bill, her children Kenny (Anna) Panduku, Jenny (Josh) Speed and her grandsons: Carson, Caleb, Caden, Colin, Jhett, Jaxson, and Jayce and many friends who are like family to her.
Wanda was many things and she excelled at all of them. She was an amazing cook, an avid fan of the Tigers, Steelers, Lions and whatever teams her grandsons were rooting for at the time. Her favorite pastime was her family, and particularly her seven grandsons. When Carson was young, there was no bigger Pokémon enthusiast than Grandma Wanda. She would stay up late with Caleb for Oregon games, loved her IU Grandma sweatshirt. She tried to sign up for fantasy baseball with her grandson Jhett and loved Facetiming with Jhett and his brothers Jaxson and Jayce. She had an amazing gift for organization and administration, a flair for creative decorating, she played piano and organ and loved worship. One of her favorite quotes was a phrase from Scripture, Psalm 46, Be Still and Know That I Am God. Wanda gave her life to Jesus at a young age and followed him her entire life. She will be desperately missed by everyone who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Kirby Church in Flat Rock, the church her father started and which she faithfully served most of her life.
