William F. Schudlich

of Dearborn Hts., MI passed peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Dearborn, MI. He was 88. "Bill" was born on June 8, 1929 in Detroit, MI, the only child of George and Lydia Schudlich. Bill was an East Side Lutheran Church League baseball pitcher who once had a tryout with the Detroit Tigers. He had two pitches: "Fast, and faster." Bill attended Valparaiso University where he met Dorcas Ruth Weinhold of Kansas City, MO. They would have been married 66 years come August 23rd. Bill received his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso in 1954, and after a brief stint in the Army, passed the Michigan Bar, where he holds emeritus status. Bill worked for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI for more than 39 years in Salaried Personnel and as Administrative Services Manager of North American Automotive Operations. William was active in his church, Guardian Lutheran, Dearborn, serving as congregation chair and singing in the choir, which he especially loved. Bill had a warm charm and an infectious laugh and smile and touched many people with all three.  He cherished family above all else. He is survived by his wife, Dorcas, their three adopted children, Stephen, Andrea, and Joanna, grandsons Kyle, Liam, Finn, and Pierson, and great grandchild Aidan. He is greatly loved and will be dearly missed. Visitation, Sunday June 3, 2018, 1-7pm at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Avenue. Funeral service Monday, June 4, 2018, 11:00am at Guardian Lutheran Church, 24544 Cherry Hill, Dearborn, MI. Gathering at church from 10 AM. Interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park Cemetery, Livonia, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
