We are sad to announce that William "Bill" Boyd Godwin passed away in Dearborn, Michigan on March 21, 2021.

Bill was born on December 3, 1951, to the late Horace Boyd and Mary Ann Godwin.  He grew up in Dearborn Heights and graduated from Edsel Ford High School in 1970.

Bill's parents instilled in him a great love of music.  He was given piano lessons in his youth and transitioned to electronic keyboard in his teens. Bill spent most of his adult life honing his keyboard skills and musical talent.

Bill possessed an innate ability to understand all things electrical and electronic.  Those who worked with Bill as a sound system engineer have described him as an electronics wizard.

Bill had a great sense of humor and a gift for spontaneous creativity.  He had the ability to say the funniest thing at the perfect time. He will be greatly missed.

Bill is survived by his sister, Vanessa Godwin Bennett (Tom); nephew, Bryan; and dear friend and companion, Angela Novak.

Fr. Patrick Lowrey will be officiating a grave side service at Parkview Memorial Cemetery at noon on Friday the 16th of April.

The cemetery restrictions will allow for only 25 people to be in attendance. Gathering will begin 30 minutes prior to the service in the shopping center parking lot just east of the cemetery on the south side of 5 mile road. We do have to adhere to the cemetery's requirements, so arrive early to ensure that you're able to attend.
