William James Gough, 87, died July 27, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born December 10, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late William J. and Louise Gough. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marybell, of 52 years, and by his daughter Lucy. He enlisted in 1943 for service in the United States Navy, where he served in the South Pacific until the end of WWII. A mechanical engineer by trade, he worked for the Ford Motor Company retiring as Manager of office space and development. William is survived by his loving wife Claire; 6 daughters, Mary Price (Thomas), Margaret Kross (Peter), Maureen Nally (Michael), Colleen Jablonski (Ronald), Patricia O'Hare and Jeanne Danubio (Joseph); 3 sons, William (Carolyn), James (Yoshiko) and Robert (Francine); 1 step daughter, Debbie Childs. He is also survived by his two sisters, Beverly Smith (Emmett) and Mary Lou Burford (Gilbert); 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Previously of Grosse Pointe Park Michigan, Mr. Gough more recently resided in Dearborn, Michigan and Naples, Florida. An avid sports enthusiast he enjoyed golfing and viewing most any sporting event. He was also an avid reader. Family will receive friends Monday 3:00-9:00 pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave., Dearborn. Funeral mass tentative for Tuesday morning, Sacred Heart Church, 22430 Michigan Ave., Dearborn.
