Lilac, William "Bill", age 90 of Adrian, formerly of Lathrup Village, passed suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013. Bill was born in Detroit Oct. 9, 1923, the son of Russian immigrants Nicolai and Helena. On June 12, 1948, he married Olga Baron. They were married 57 years until her death in 2005. Bill was an alumni of Cass Tech High, Lawrence Tech, Harvard and the University of Detroit and served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Bill was electrical engineer with Ford Motor Co. for 35 1/2 years, retiring as an executive manager. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, Samuel and Alexander, sister Nettie Chumack and beloved daughter Susan. Bill is survived by daughter Jackie (Mooch) Youngs and grandsons Ian and Johnny as well as many dear nieces and nephews. He played golf for 71 years and loved to hunt and fish. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 24, from 3 to 7 p.m. and the funeral service Monday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m. with Father Lev officiating at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, Mich.
