Willis Bill Hampton Guinn, Jr. died November 1, 2007 at age 92. Born November 13, 1914 in Monroe, Louisiana, he grew up in the small nearby sawmill town of Hutting, Arkansas. He entered college at 16 years of age and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University. After beginning his finance career in 1936 with Western Electric in Chicago and New York, interrupted by his service in the United States Army during WWII from which he was honorably discharged at the rank of Major in 1946, he then joined Ford Motor Company in 1952. He eventually retired in 1974 as a Financial Vice President of Ford Motor Credit Company, a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. He was a family man, predeceased by his wife, Virginia Mae Pierson. He is survived by his three children Susan Penelope, Stanley Willis and Judith Russell Guinn; his four grandchildren Heather Anne and Miesha Meriah Tipton, Terri Lanae and Scott Stanley Guinn; and one great grandchild Logan Mathew Graf. Bill enjoyed golf, shooting pool, and playing Bridge at the Dearborn Country Club as well as gardening at his residence in Dearborn. In recent years he enjoyed playing board games at home, but his favorite past time had always been watching sports on television, especially a good baseball game. Funeral Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11AM at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. Visitation Tuesday, November 6, 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Memorials suggested to the National Kidney Foundation, Oakwood Healthcare System Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
